I am a prayer worrier.

When asking a fellow mom how she is doing, I usually am greeted with “Fine” and then some variation of this sentence:
“I am worried about Oliver. He seems to be getting picked on.”
“I am worried about Kate. I really wish she had a different group of friends to hang out with”
“I am worried about Dylan. I don’t know if he will EVER be potty trained”
As moms, we WORRY! Is it really possible NOT to?

“Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Philippians 4:6 (MSG)
Philippians 4:6 is what Ginger Ciminello would call a vitamin verse. I NEED this verse etched to me so I am never allowed to forget it or have it escape my thoughts.
I truly don’t believe it is possible to escape the human emotion of worry but I DO believe it is possible to let our worries become our prayers.
Do let your worries draw you into God. Do allow your worries to be transformed! Do let them give you confidence in watching His hand work and move for good. Do grant permission for Christ and not “worry” to be at your core. Do let other people into your world of worries so they can pray on your behalf.
If I pray more because I worry, I guess I am okay with that.
