Battling Friendships

My BFF of 37 plus years.
Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down. Get along with each other; don't be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don't be the great somebody.” Romans 12:11-15

Shy.
Been burned.
Lack of time.
Nerves.
Fear of certain risks.
Full plate.
Not enough of me.
Satisfying friendships.

Those are my excuses.
Those are the reasons I give myself for having a small group of good friends.
They are real reasons, reasons with merit, reasons that hold worth for me.

But, I also know they hold me back from people undiscovered, people of influence, and people with new perspectives.
What to do?
I really don’t know. Really.
Life already boils over so how do you create the space for new friendships?
It is a real question.
I ask you how you do it or what is your perspective on your adult female friendships?
