Camera Clicking Beauty

NOT my "work" photo shoot. But you get the point.
We had a “photo shoot” at work this week.
They needed updated staff shots for our web-site.
THE STRESS!
I watched as every woman on staff including myself was sent into a sheer panic.
The stories of changing outfits, going shopping, being unhappy with the choice made were endless.
The way we primped, re-applied make-up, and teased our hair for “body” was out of control.
It was seriously as bad as junior high after gym class. The hair spray was flying.

As silly as the frenzy was what I loved watching was how each woman on staff supported each other.
Friends stayed for friends helping make sure their bangs weren’t being odd.
Friends made silly faces so that smiles were genuine.
Friends encouraged and lavished each other with compliments of beauty.
It is hard to be confident as we make ourselves vulnerable to the lens of a photographer. Maybe we are worried we will see a reflection we don’t like? But there was true beauty in watching woman surround woman and encourage them with words that reminded them…
“God, your God, chose you out of all the people on Earth for himself as a cherished, personal treasure.”
Deuteronomy 7:6b
