{Day 14} Focus

Just imagine that this journey towards creativity is like an incredible meal.
We have been sipping hand shaken freshly made mint lemonades, munching on warm bread and butter, savoring organic tomatoes, chunks of mozzarella cheese, topped with basil and balsamic.
We have had a great start!
But now it is time to get to the main course. It is time to pick up the bigger fork and enjoy what the meal is all about.
It is time to bring FOCUS to this process.
“Our deepest calling is to grow into our own authentic selfhood, whether or not it conforms to some image of who we ought to be. As we do so, we will not only find the joy that every human being seeks – we will also find our path of authentic service in the world. True vocation joins self and service, as Fredrick Buechner asserts when he defines vocation as ‘the place where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep need.’”  Parker J. Palmer – Let Your Life Speak

Stepping Stone #6
Focus on Creating Priorities.
God gives the nudges, the encouragement through others, the joy, the push, and the prod. If you are beyond lucky maybe even a mapped out plan for the call/the vocation He has for your life but it is our job to put it into action.
Do you know it took me two years after I heard God clearly tell me to write devotional flashcards for moms to put action behind it? In order to bring the dream to fruition I had to focus. I had to sit down and put a timeline together of how to make it happen. I needed to place focus and priority around the vision and not waste it.  If I hadn’t done that step I can promise the vision that came from that long, dark and winding road would still be sitting in a box with all the other dreams I have collecting dust.

Break Free Activity:
Answer these three questions:
What does your authentic self look like?
How do you make that person or self a priority?
Is there a God nudge happening in your life that you need to prioritize?
