Music fixes everything in our house. Seriously,
from whining, to grumpy moods, to sadness, to simply serving as an extra source
of entertainment music is like hitting a massive red re-set button.
Last night
as bath time began a song came on that my kids were excited about and I went
all Flashdance on them. We laughed, sang into finger microphones
and played air guitar that should have won me a MTV Music Award.
In that moment the stress of the day fell away. The
worries of “how am I going to get it all done?, I forgot this, when am I going
to do this?” disappeared and all I heard was laughter, joy, and little people
hearts that were loving life.
“Delighted,
they dance all day long; they know who you are, what you
do—they can't keep it quiet! Your vibrant beauty has gotten inside us— you've
been so good to us! We're walking on air! All
we are and have we owe to God, Holy God of Israel, our King!” Psalm 89:18
I know, I know there is probably something
happening in your day that you are not thrilled about. We could easily sit around and swap poop lists. I have one, you have one,
and our neighbors have one but can we just take a time out and remember
“All we are and have we owe to God!”?
Amen!?!
Dance, play, sing, blow some bubbles and remember
the vibrant beauty that God made you to be.
Will you take the Flashdance challenge today?
