{Day 11} Listen: In Action

Yesterday we talked about the value in making time to LISTEN to God. Today I would like to guide you in an activity that will create time to do just that. 

It will take you about 20-30 minutes. Can the dishes wait? 

It is called Praying the Scripture of Lectio Divina. It is a powerful tool for hearing God in your life.  First I need to you to select a few verses from a passage of scripture. It can be ANYTHING! The Psalms are great for this activity.

Suggestions: Psalm 139: 1-6, Romans 12:1-5, 

1. Read

Read it out loud or silently.

2. Reflect

Read it again and reflect on a word or a phrase that jumps out at you from what you are reading.

3. Respond

Read it again and this time respond to that word or phrase that jumps out at you. Respond by journaling, drawing, talking to yourself, playing with play dough or praying.

4. Rest

Read it one last time and just give yourself as much time as you can to rest in what you have experienced.
