His Name

 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Where did your child’s name come from? I imagine it is precious to you. Perhaps it is a family name passed down from generations, an ode to your childhood best friend, or maybe just a name that made your heart happy. No matter where it came from it was chosen with love for your precious child. It is a name that I imagine you hope captures the very spirit of who God created them to be.

Before God’s son arrived we knew Him by name; Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. I would dare say Jesus had His fair share of nicknames to choose from. All of His names communicated the very essence of God to others; wonderful, mighty, everlasting, and peaceful. Oh, how the name of Jesus fills my soul with warmth.
