As a child one of my favorite traditions during Christmas time was celebrating Saint Nicholas Day. On December 5th I would leave my shoes outside my bedroom door and when I would wake in the morning there would be a present. What kids doesn’t like an early gift? While the story of Santa Claus was fun for me I always understood that the idea of him came from the real man full of good deeds, St. Nicholas.
