The Monsters in the Closet.

“Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” Genesis 22:7-8

Abraham had no idea how God was going to provide. For all Abraham knew he was about to give up the person dearest to his heart. But in that moment of questioning from his child Abraham modeled trust.

Do our children see this same trait in us?
When our children are worried about the dark or a monster in their closet do we pray with them?
When money gets tight and we worry about paying the bills do our children see us asking God for help?
When we are tired and weary from our mommy duties do our children see us asking God to provide the strength?

They will learn to trust in God and go to Him with their own worries and fears if the example is set before them.

Ask your children if they have any worries or fears. Pray with them over those things.
