Are you ready to rumble?

The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.

“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here.”

For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus answered, 

“It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. Luke 4:9-13

The devil. Such a cunning beast. He knows how to battle you. He knows how to work you. He knows where you are weak. The question is are you ready for him?

As a mom he may tempt you with envy for another moms’ stuff. Maybe it will come in the form of jealousy for the seemingly perfect life of a friend. Or maybe he infuses you with fear that paralyzes your ability to trust God. Whatever it is are you aware how he is lurking?

Jesus sets the example for us. He battles the devil with scripture. Are you armed with verses that can surround you with protection? Find one, two, or three. Write them on your bathroom mirror, write it on your hand (remember 4^th grade), or use post-it notes and stick them on your computer screen.

Jesus wasn’t immune which means none of us are either.
