He walked in our shoes.

“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross” Philippians 4:8

Easter week, I often find my mind wandering. I wonder what Jesus was feeling? Being 100% human as well as 100% God, did human tendencies kick in as He knew death was near? Was there fear, worry, doubt, sadness creeping into His thoughts? While my brain knows heaven is a ZILLION times better than earth, the idea of leaving people and relationships hurts my heart. Did Jesus feel this way?

“And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” Luke 22:44
We can’t know exactly what was causing the emotion of anguish in Christ as He prayed prior to being arrested but knowing that He has an understanding of that emotion makes me thankful. That God would come as man to earth and walk our walk so that we may be offered grace is a blessing that is in-describable.
