Body Talk Part IV: Exercise

8th Grade Basketball

I don't want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don't want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts” Ephesians 4:2 (MSG)

"Fits and starts” looks like: Water aerobics, kick boxing, personal trainer, Wii Fit, running, walking, workout books, workout tapes, stepper, mini trampoline, and the list could keep going. Nothing sticks for me.
I haven’t worked out since having kids. Sure, chasing around a three-year and a one-year-old counts for something, but it cannot replace taking the time to be physically healthy. Here is the deal. As much as I know I need to and I should for my longevity I have no desire to exercise. Zero!  It is sad.
And while I realize this scripture is about much more than exercise, it spoke to me on the topic because it has two main points.
1. Don’t be lazy
2. Be disciplined
The day I wake up ready to commit to those two things is the day I am golden.
Can I ask how you do when it comes to the world or exercise? If you are a zero like me, what do you need for that to change? I know I need accountability.
If you are a rock star, will you share your secret with the rest of us mommies?
