Running Your Road.

This week we are going to examine Ephesians 4:1-3 and see what we can unpack in this section of scripture.

“In light of all this, here's what I want you to do. While I'm locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel.” Ephesians 4:1 (MSG)

Is it rocky or paved?
Is it a beach or a city?
Is it lined with flowers or perhaps desert?
The road that God has called you to travel, what does it look like?
Do you know it well or are you still trying to find it?
Have you given up the road out of fear or busyness?
I heard the call to my road at 15 years old…ministry, full time ministry. Not a glamorous road but the call was clear as day for me.
I wanted to argue. I had a picture of MY road in MY head. God’s road and my road didn’t look the same. I wanted to be Jane Pauley (Today Show host for those of you that are too young to know her), I wanted to be a dress designer, I wanted a much fancier road. “I” was the key word not allowed in those sentences.
The lesson learned for me is that no matter how hard I try, I can’t run from God’s call for me. And I have tried one or two times. I always come back to the road; He has custom designed just for me. And the beauty is that no two roads are alike.
I run, jog, fast walk and on occasion stand still on my road, I hit a pot hole every now and again and need some road work.  But at the end of the day, it is my road that has been designed for me by God. I am called to travel it.
What is your road? Are you running on it?
